I remember watching the news in Ruda Jenkins' apartment. We were getting ready to walk to class at UK when we saw this on the TV. It was a complete shock to us. This just lets you know how precious life really is.

I was in the Navy and lived in Hawaii when my mom called me to tell me about the accident. I was devastated! He was the first one of us to go! It was just so unbelievable! I knew Sean since third grade at Parkway and we used to go roller skating every Friday night! I think of him pretty much every day because my bus route is in his old neighborhood. Ironically one day I had a new student and when she handed me the bus pass it said Morgan Fitzsimmons and my heart just fell to the floor. Eventually we talked about Sean and come to find out her name is Morgan Sean Fitzsimmons.... he is greatly missed....

I remember this day like it was yesterday. I was supposed to be with Sean on his trip when he had the accident. He was on his way back home after going to file a police report after someone hit his car the weekend before while it was parked at the County Line. BJ Duff and I waited for him to return as we had plans to go to Louisville that night to go out. Well, he never did and I miss him greatly. He was a great person, a true friend and always positive no matter what the challenge was.

I still can't believe Sean is gone. We had a ton of fun times together. They still make me smile. Spring Break in Fla - I will never forget that! We built some interesting sand "structures", him and his ultra tanning oil that about gave him 3rd degree burns, and the crazy chick he met that would not shut up - ever! So many memories I am glad to have. I am sad you are gone Sean. Love you. Terra

He was the first person out of our class that I know of, after graduation it was during the time that we all thought life would go on forever. He was so young, so it's easy to remember him as fun and cute. The scary thing is that I passed that point everyday for 6 years and never thought once about the trees coming off that little mound of a hill. It was a wake up call to get in check with where i was in my spiritual life and that my friends and family know how much they mean.
